This Privacy Policy explains how Firefly Software, LLC ("Firefly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use Faketrade (the "Service").
By using Faketrade, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
## 1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is automatically collected when you use the Service. When you sign up or log in, we collect basic account information such as your name and email address. If you use Google or another OAuth provider to log in, we receive basic profile information and identifiers from that provider as needed to create or log in to your account. We also collect information about your in-game activity, including your simulated holdings and orders, your trading history, and your leaderboard or ranking data.
In the future, we may also collect usage and log data such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, timestamps, and basic information about how you use the Service. We would use this information to maintain security, debug issues, and improve the Service. If we significantly change what we collect, we will update this Privacy Policy.
## 2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate the Service, which includes creating and managing your account, authenticating you when you log in, and maintaining your simulated portfolios, trades, and leaderboards. We also use your information to communicate with you by sending transactional emails such as email verification messages, password reset messages, and important notices about your account or changes to the Service or policies.
We use your information to understand how people use Faketrade so we can make it better and to monitor for abuse, fraud, or security issues. We may also use aggregated and/or anonymized information that does not reasonably identify you for analytics, research, and, if we choose, public sharing, such as statistics about overall trading activity in the game.

We currently send only transactional emails, such as email verification messages, password reset emails, and important account or service-related notices. We do not send marketing or newsletter-style messages at this time. If we decide to send marketing emails in the future, we will provide a way for you to opt out of those emails.

Faketrade may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the Service is used. If we introduce more advanced tracking or third-party analytics, we will update this section to describe what we use and why.
## 5. How We Share Information
We share information with vendors who help us run Faketrade, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, database providers, email providers, and authentication providers, and these service providers are allowed to use your information only to provide services to us. We may also share information if we are required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process, or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Firefly, our users, or others. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. ## 6. Public Activity and Aggregated Data
As part of the core game, your in-game portfolios and trades are public within the Service, and your simulated performance and ranking may appear on leaderboards or in other public views. We may also use and share aggregated or anonymized data that does not reasonably identify you, such as statistics about overall trading trends in the game.
## 7. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information for as long as needed to operate Faketrade, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. You may request that we delete your account or delete certain data you have provided. When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, subject to any information we must keep for legal, security, or operational reasons such as server logs or backups, and subject to data that remains only in aggregated or anonymized form. Some of your in-game activity may remain in aggregate statistics or anonymized datasets that are not tied to your identity.
## 8. Children’s Privacy
Faketrade is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
## 9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, such as using encryption in transit where appropriate and storing passwords securely using techniques like hashing. However, no online service can guarantee perfect security, and we cannot promise that your information will always be completely safe. You are responsible for helping protect your information by using a strong password and keeping your login details private.
## 10. International Users
Faketrade is available globally, but our systems and service providers may be located in the United States or other countries. By using Faketrade, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own, and you consent to those transfers and processing.
